Hey guys!
Our next meeting is this Wednesday, March 23, in the auditorium at 7:45 am. We’ll pass out T-shirts and get sign-ups for the Japan Fundraiser.
JAPAN FUNDRAISER
All of next week, March 28 – April 1, we will have a booth set up during both lunches. Our plan is to raise $1,000 for the Japanese crisis by selling paper cranes. As you probably have guessed, the idea is to make 1,000 cranes as a symbol of wishing the Japanese a quick recovery from the disaster. We will display the cranes in the school cafeteria.
All of the proceeds will be sent to Japan through the American Red Cross.
Here’s what you can do to help:
- Cut 6 inch x 6 inch squares from old MAGAZINES. This is what we will use as origami paper for the cranes. We need MANY of these!! Be mindful of which magazines you use… =) 20 squares = 1 hr. You can get a maximum of 5 hrs from this by cutting out 100 squares. Please bring them to the meeting on Wed!!
- During both lunches, we need volunteers to man the table and collect donations. We will have sign-ups at Wednesday’s meeting.
- Know how to fold cranes? We need your help!! We want to give students the opportunity to make their own cranes, so you will go around helping people make their cranes. You can also sit at the booth and make extras. Sign-ups will be at Wednesday’s meeting.
This is a Beta-sponsored event that EVERYONE can get involved in!! I know that with the help of every one of our 300+ members, we can easily surpass our goal of $1,000!
Thanks everyone! See you Wednesday! =)

Dear,Northview Beta Club
I’m Naomi Fujita. I’m Japanese.
I’m the mother of Riho Fujita. She is in 9th grade at NHS.
I’ve heard from my friend about yourclub’s nice plan” Japan Fundraiser”.
My family was very impressed by your plan and We wanted to support and help with your plan.
So We have already made 100 paper cranes(origami).
We’d like to pass these paper cranes to someone of your club as soon as possible.
But I ‘m not sure what should I do.
Please let us know how We can hand them to your club.
If my daughter Riho will bring them to your club (at cafeteria?) during her lunch time,
Can she pass them to someone of your club menber?
We appreciate your help and support and kindness for Japan.
Thank you very much for your cooperation and help.
We are looking forward to your reply.
Sincerely yours,
Naomi Fujita.
